Position Summary:
Marathon County is seeking an experienced, results-driven, and solution-focused leader to serve as the full-time Deputy County Administrator. The Deputy County Administrator is responsible for supporting the coordination of overall county operations. This position works closely with the County Administrator, Board of Supervisors, department heads, community and business leaders, as well as other state and local officials to define and develop strategies to enhance the delivery of county services. The Deputy County Administrator has direct oversight responsibility for select department heads, and large scale projects and initiatives countywide. The Deputy County Administrator acts as a trusted advisor, helping to mentor staff, develop leaders, and strengthen the organization’s capacity to serve.

And finally, they will contribute to a positive work culture, welcome diversity, and exercise a high level of integrity.

A Master’s Degree from an approved college/university in Public Administration or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in municipal management, organizational development, criminal justice, human services, or a related field, or any combination of job related education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
