Deputy Clerk of Court
The Deputy Clerk of Court is primarily responsible to assist the Clerk of Circuit Court to discharge the clerk’s duties as defined in Wisconsin Statutes and assist in the day-to-day management of the Court’s administrative functions. This position must have knowledge of legal terminology, court proceedings, office practices and procedures and requires confidentiality of records in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin and office policy. In the absence of the Clerk of Circuit Court, assume the duties and responsibilities of the office.
Qualifications include High School diploma, Associate Degree in a business, accounting, paralegal, or related field is preferred. Two years experience in court related or legal office setting is also preferred. This position requires professionalism; good communication skills; tactful; detail oriented; ability to multitask and work under duress; knowledge of legal terminology; cash management and accounting skills; proficient computer/typing skills including email; ability to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations. This position requires proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Wage scale for this position is $19.43 – $22.21. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a complete benefit package included.
