POSITION SUMMARY:
Operation and Maintenance Technicians are the primary staff positions that ensure the day-to-day, 24/7 operations of the Central Wisconsin Airport. There are three levels of Operation and Maintenance Technicians with increasing responsibility, skills, knowledge, and abilities needed to perform the job.

In compliance with federal regulations, the airport provides sufficient and qualified personnel to comply with the requirements of its Airport Certification Manual. The airport recognizes the importance of a well-trained experienced team. Therefore, the developmental progression of Operation and Maintenance Technicians will not be limited to the position in which they were hired.

Operation and Maintenance Technician II’s are primarily responsible for ensuring the airport’s day to day regulatory compliance of all applicable federal, state, and local requirements; the overall maintenance of the airfield, buildings, and fleet; and delivering exceptional customer service. OMT IIs have the opporutnity for career advancement to OMT III.

Standard scedule: Four (4) 10-hr days either Sunday through Wednesday OR Wednesday through Saturday. In addition, OMT IIs are regularly scheduled on weekends and must have on-call availability.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions (Before Hire)

Technical school or associates degree in a related field
Basic computer skills
Or any combination of education training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
Valid driver license with a driving record that meets County standards
Additional Airport Certifications and Training (After Hire)

Minimum Training (Required for all OMT-II Employees)
All required Part 139 and Part 1542 Training Requirements
Valid Wisconsin Class B Commercial Drivers’ License
Airport Rescue and Firefighting certification
First Aid/CPR/AED
Incident Command System (ICS) training, level ICS-100, ICS-200
Proficiency Training (Desired for all OMT-II Employees)
AAAE Basic Airport Safety and Operations Specialist (ASOS) Training
ICS-300, NIMS 700 and NIMS 800
Advanced Training (Optional for all OMT-II Employees)
Advanced ASOS
ACE Operations
Approved Leadership Program Certificate

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
Ensure regulatory compliance through regular review, update and adherence of various documents and manuals, including but not limited to:
Airport Certification Manual
Airport Emergency Plan
Wildlife Hazard Management Plan and USDA coordination
Snow and Ice Control Plan
Storm Water Management Plan
Spill Prevention Containment and Countermeasures
Airport Security Plan
Security Directives
Airport Rule and Regulations
Perform Airport Rescue and Firefighting duties
Conduct airport operational self-inspections in accordance with federal regulations
Publish Notices to Airmen as appropriate to the National Airspace System
Conduct movement area snow removal
Perform wildlife hazard mitigation duties
Conduct airfield mowing near and inside of movement areas controlled by Air Traffic Control
Ensure the integrity of the airport parking system; process payments, replace consumables, respond to customers, issue parking violations, and report system failures
Perform construction monitoring and reporting
Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance, service, and repair
Perform pavement maintenance, marking and care
Perform carpentry work including drywall and painting
Perform building management services including electrical, HVAC, building automation, and plumbing service and repair
Service, diagnose, and repair airfield electrical systems including runway, taxiway lighting, radios
Perform passenger boarding bridge service, maintenance, and repair
Perform Welding
Maintain accurate, federally compliant logs, records, and inspections
Utilize airport provided communication equipment including Work Order system, email, and radio
Positive attitude
Work effectively as part of a productive and supportive team
Additional Tasks and Responsibilities

Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures
Perform airport custodial services including cleaning floors, windows, and restrooms, emptying wastebaskets, and ensuring the clean appearance of the passenger terminal building
Conduct security inspections and patrols as specified in the Airport Security Plan, Security Directives, or airport security protocols
Conduct non-movement area snow removal; operate snow blowers, powered brooms, plow trucks, and shovels to remove snow and ice effectively and safely
Perform landside mowing; operate riding mowers, push mowers, and various trimmers
Participate in airport team building exercises including Marathon County culture initiatives

COMPENSATION:
Hourly Pay Range: $24.65 – $34.51
