Child Support Specialist

Performs intermediate technical work establishing Child Support Orders, providing on-going case management of child support enforcement program cases, scheduling court hearings for cases, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Child Support Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED in with some additional specialized child support training, or related field and moderate experience in financial counseling, independent research, investigation, paralegal work, financial collections, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint-Based Criminal Background Check, Wisconsin Department of Justice Criminal History Record, Internal Revenue Services Safeguarding Federal Tax Information and Program Security, and Confidentiality training upon hire. Obtain Bureau of Child Support and Wisconsin Department of Children and Families training within 1 year of hire. Valid driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin.

Wage: $20.87 per hour, 40 hours per week. Adams County offers a generous benefits package.
