Child Support Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Full-time position available in a positive and evolving child support system. We have a proactive philosophy to engage with those we serve and support them in meeting their goals. This includes specialized case management and financial management tasks to ensure the establishment and enforcement of court-ordered child support obligations. Work involves evaluating referrals for qualifying services, determining parents’ ability to pay support, mediating placement and making recommendations to the courts. Work extends to drafting legal documents, monitoring ongoing cases for compliance, conducting research, interviews, and performing and explaining complex mathematical calculations and accounting processes. Work also involves serving vulnerable populations and connecting them to support services through the Child Support ELEVATE Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, legal secretarial science, criminal justice, or closely related legal field and one year’s related legal work experience; OR three years related work experience in the child support system or related legal field; OR equivalent combination of related legal education and experience. Work experience related to child support preferred.
COMPENSATION: $19.15/hr – $22.50/hr
