Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time Chief Deputy. This position has administrative and management responsibility for coordinating the services of the department and the direction and supervision of its personnel. Directly or indirectly manages and supervises subordinate supervisors and all employees in the Sheriff’s Office. Knowledge of laws and ordinances and of departmental rules and regulations is required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county officials, subordinates, news media and the public required.

The ideal candidate must possess the following: Certification by Wisconsin Department of Justice as law enforcement officer, minimum of 60 college credits or degree in criminal justice or related field. Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a law enforcement officer required in addition to five (5) years’ supervisory experience, preferably in law enforcement. Must possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin Drivers License that will allow unrestricted performance of their duties. Must possess and maintain valid Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officer Certification. Must qualify and maintain qualification in department required firearms.

2024 Wages: $93,724 – $107,120 per year plus excellent County benefits package and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
