RESPONSIBILITES
The Medication Assistant is responsible for performing routine treatments, medication pass and related tasks necessary to maintain the medication pass system according to policies, procedures and standards.
Administering medication and treatments as prescribed by the physician
Assist nursing staff in performing resident care and activities of daily living including but not limited to: blood glucose testing, blood pressures, physical hygiene needs of residents and performing other duties as assigned
Maintaining thorough electronic resident record in accordance with safety guidelines and providing social and emotional support to residents and resident families
QUALIFICATIONS
The right candidate will meet the following requirements:
Current Wisconsin certificate as a Nursing Assistant and graduate of an accredited medication aide course
Ability to handle crisis intervention situations as directed by care plan, facility protocol, resident rights etc .
Ability to administer medications to elderly confused and emotionally upset residents in a safe and mature manner and ability to accurately document this activity.
Basic level of computer proficiency, medical terminology and understanding of concept of comprehensive nursing care for a diversified population
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.50 – $25.14 per hour
