Wage: $57,709.60 to $70,504.85/annually
Wage as of 7/1/26: $58,858.15 to $71,915.35/annually

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN OUR TEAM:
The Wood County Human Services Department, Family Services Division, has an immediate opening for a Case Manager/Social Worker – Youth Justice. This position works with youth who are referred to the agency for delinquent acts, truancy, and runaway. The position collaborates with schools, courts, law enforcement, treatment and service providers to provide interventions that hold the youth accountable for their actions while also providing treatment. The desired outcome is to encourage engagement in pro-social activities, promote positive relationships and social behaviors in youth and families, and reduce recidivism.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
1. Use Social Work Methods, principles, strengths-based approaches, evidence-based tools, and interviewing techniques to engage youth in trust-based working relationships to determine the identified needs and develop case plans to accomplish established objectives and goals. The Case Manager/Social Worker must develop a cooperative working relationship with other community partners involved with treatment and services of the youth and their family. The Case Manager/Social Worker will assist the family to obtain optimum benefit from the services.
2. Completes juvenile intake inquiries, thorough assessments, and ongoing case management services to youth and families who are referred to Youth Justice.
3. Provide services to youth with complex trauma histories, behavioral, and mental health concerns.
4. Court preparation and testimony is required.
5. Manage workload to ensure compliance with required paperwork through Court Reports, eWiSACWIS documentation per Wisconsin State Statutes, Youth Justice Standards, Ongoing Services Standards, and internal processes.
6. Utilize evidence-informed or evidence-based methods in providing case management services to the youth and family with the goal of maintaining youth in their home environment and local community.
7. Function as a team member with the youth mentor, treatment service providers, community partners, and other support staff.
8. Participate in a rotating paid on-call system to respond to emergent situations outside of traditional business hours, including weekends and holidays.
9. Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner.
10. Must be familiar with and exemplify the Wood County Core Values and serve with courtesy and respect in accordance with the Wood County Code of Conduct.

B. OTHER JOB DUTIES
1. Provide appropriate services and interventions to juveniles who may be referred for sexual offenses.
2. Attend Department staff meetings, appropriate training and education, and supervisory conferences.
3. Demonstrate the ability to constructively utilize training and education provided and administrative consultation.
4. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
NON-CERTIFIED:
Minimum qualifications of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a directly related field. Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions (agency manuals, etc.), and reading and writing (for reports) is necessary. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with individuals and groups. This position requires travel to and from off-campus sites. Possession of a valid driver’s license, as well as a licensed and insured automobile is required, or other means of reliable transportation immediately available to individual.

Basic office equipment used: computer, printing equipment, dictation equipment, telephone, copy machine, FAX machine.

CERTIFIED:
Minimum qualifications of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a directly related field. Possession of, or eligibility for, Social Work Certification in accordance with Wisconsin Chapter 457.08 is preferred. Wage will be dependent upon education, certification, and experience. Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions (agency manuals, etc.), and reading and writing (for reports) is necessary. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with individuals and groups. This position requires travel to and from off-campus sites. Possession of a valid driver’s license, as well as a licensed and insured automobile is required, or other means of reliable transportation immediately available to individual.
