CURRENT OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN OUR TEAM:

The Wood County Human Services Department, Family Services Division, has an immediate opening for a Case Manager/Social Worker Position. This Case Manager/Social Worker and FSET (Food Share Employment and Training) position manages child safety, promotes the well-being of children and achieves permanence through ongoing case management in the provision of Child Protective Services and/or Juvenile Court Services to children, youth and their families. This position must work toward the efforts and support the supervisor and Family Services Division to ensure compliance with program objectives and applicable standards, mandates, rules, regulations, and statutory authority. The work is performed under the immediate direction of a Family Services Supervisor with additional oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES
A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Utilize a family-centered, trauma-informed, strength-based, culturally sensitive, and equity, diversity, and inclusion lens through which children, youth and families’ needs are assessed.
2. Use Social Work Methods, principles, and interview techniques to establish rapport and build trusting relationships to obtain information and effectively work with families.
3. Utilize strong communication and engagement skills to collaborate with the team including community partners involved to obtain optimum benefit from the utilized services.
4. Provide services to children, youth and families to achieve permanency to include but not limited to reunification, guardianship and/or termination of parental rights. Court preparation and testimony is required.
5. Manage workload to assure adequate compliance with required paperwork through court reports and eWiSACWIS documentation per Wisconsin State Statutes, Ongoing Services Standards and internal processes.
6. Provide supportive job coaching and assist families in managing employment related issues.
7. Serve as a liaison between families served in the child welfare system and the FSET program.
8. Maintain knowledge of pertinent departmental, state, and federal policies, rules, and regulations.
9. Demonstrate excellent organizational, time management and writing skills.
10. Supports and advocates for a consistently developing agency culture of hope and resilience.
11. Adapts to change in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
12. Participate in a rotating paid on-call system to respond to emergent situations outside of traditional business hours, including weekends and holidays.
13. Function as a team member with staff throughout Human Services, school personnel, placement providers, court officials, volunteers, law enforcement, and treatment and service providers.
14. Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner.
15. Must be familiar with and exemplify the Wood County Core Values and serve with courtesy and respect in accordance with the Wood County Code of Conduct.

B. OTHER JOB DUTIES
1. Attend Department staff meetings, appropriate training and education, and supervisory conferences.
2. Demonstrate the ability to critically think by constructively utilizing training and education provided along with administrative consultation.
3. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

(Uncertified) Minimum qualifications of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field. Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions (agency manuals, etc.), and reading and writing (for reports) is necessary. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with individuals and groups. This position may require travel to and from off-campus sites. Individual may use personal vehicle or other means of reliable transportation.

Basic office equipment used: computer, printing equipment, dictation equipment, telephone, copy machine, FAX machine.

(Certified) Minimum qualifications of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field. Possession of, or eligibility for, Social Work Certification in accordance with Wisconsin Chapter 457.08 is preferred. Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions (agency manuals, etc.), and reading and writing (for reports) is necessary. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with individuals and groups. This position may require travel to and from off-campus sites. Individual may use personal vehicle or other means of reliable transportation.
