This is a Part-Time (28 hours per week), Limited Term Employment position that is grant funded until 9/30/2028.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Behavioral Health Administrator, this position is responsible for planning and implementing outreach activities for Adult Protective Services education under the guidelines of the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grant. This position will serve as the primary educator to community stakeholders, prosecutors, law enforcement, health care providers, families, and others in the community. The Adult Protective Services Educator will maintain data for comprehensive reporting. This position serves Behavioral Health, other Health and Human Service Divisions, and the community around public and behavioral health priorities. Improves individual and population health through education and training assessment, community health planning, capacity building and program/policy implementation. Provides consultation and leadership in developing community-wide education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

– Analyzes public health education needs in relation to adult protective services and elder abuse and neglect in the community and collaboratively designs, implements, and evaluates educational programs at the individual and community level supporting collaboration, providing consultation and leadership, and capacity building.
– Provides effective, efficient, and appropriate behavioral health education communications for a variety of audiences and a variety of platforms including one on one, and group presentations.
– Applies appropriate learning theories, evidence-based practices, and culturally sensitive practices when working with individual clients and/or groups.
– Participates in/evaluates the department’s community health assessment and community health improvement plan processes by supporting data gathering, plan development, implementation, and evaluation.
– Work to advance health equity and health in all policies into department and community planning.
– Participates in grant writing efforts to support existing and new behavioral health education efforts that align with agency and community health priorities.
– Assists with policy and procedure development and maintenance.
– Supports the behavioral health department’s strategic plan and aligns health education efforts to strategic priorities.
– Supports quality improvement, performance management, and accreditation requirements. Assists with data entry and maintenance of the performance management system.
– Assists in the development of special projects as assigned; coordinates projects to assure goals are addressed as assigned; collects data and assists in analysis and outcome evaluation.
– Develop and deliver educational program and training for community stakeholders.
– Provide direct support and guidance to families dealing with suspected or confirmed cases of elder abuse or neglect, protective placements, and/or guardianship.
– Work collaborative with community stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to prevent elder abuse and neglect.
– Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
– Work is primarily in an office setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

– Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, gerontology, nursing, or other human service field or communications and/or project management related field.
– Two (2) years of experience in behavioral health, specifically adult protective or elderly care services field preferred.
– Experience in program development and community outreach, preferred.
– Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulation regarding adult protection and/or elder abuse, preferred.
– Certification or specialized training in adult protection and/or elder abuse prevention and intervention, preferred.

Full Pay Range: $28.45 – $39.63
Expected Pay Range: $28.45 – $32.18
