CURRENT OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN OUR TEAM:

The Wood County Human Services Department has an opening for a full-time Edgewater Haven Administrator Position. This position will supervise administration and coordinate all functions within the nursing home according to applicable statutes, rules and regulations. The work is performed under the direction of the Human Services Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Supervise administration and coordinate all functions within the nursing home according to applicable statutes, rules and regulations. The work is performed under the direction of Health and Human Services Committee and County Board Supervisors.
*Manages 24-hour operation of facility.
*Coordinates nursing home administration functions with nursing home departments, Health and Human Services Committee, State regulatory agencies, County departments, County Board Supervisors, County Board Committees, professional associations, local governments and other health care providers.
*Directs and regularly communicates with management team. Works with department directors to manage budgets, financial needs, census, equipment, supplies, and resources. Ensures proper response to family, resident, regulatory, business and personnel matters.
*Manages survey and reporting processes. Leads department directors and staff regarding conduct and disclosure, reporting, being present at all times surveyors are on-site, directing prompt responses to requests for information, and undertaking corrective action, if appropriate.
*Directs and performs quality assessment and assurance functions, including but not limited to: regulatory compliance rounds to monitor performance and to continuously improve quality. Implementation of programs to gather and analyze data for trends and to institute actions to resolve problems promptly. Reports and makes recommendations to appropriate committee.
*Ensures adherence to proper safety procedures, including but not limited to: compliance with infection control program, OSHA, fire and disaster safety, prompt investigation and reporting of injury. In the event of an emergency, directs employees, residents, and others to assure safety.
*Ensures proper documentation is maintained. This includes but is not limited to: documentation of investigations, incidents, meetings, staff training and in-services.
*Develops and updates policies and procedures to reflect the philosophy of the facility, professional standards, and legal requirements.
*Maintains and applies current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.
*Directs personnel functions. Ensures compliance with agreements, policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Supervises employee hiring, discharge, grievance processing/adjudication, discipline, training and evaluation.
*Develops, submits and defends annual operating budget. Forecasts revenues and expenses. Develops three-year capital equipment budget and long-term capital purchasing plan.
*Supervises accounting procedures and monitors monthly financial statements.
*Ensures facility complies with all state and federal rules and regulations. Ensures facility quality of care is maintained to meet residents’ needs. Receives and reacts to complaints from residents, residents’ families or concerned citizens.
*Hires, trains, evaluates and disciplines all laundry and maintenance personnel. Updates work schedules, as necessary.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
*Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field; six years long-term care facility or health care administration experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
*Wisconsin nursing home administrator’s license
*Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required.
*Must meet State and Federal Requirements. Government experience preferred.
