Job Description:

Pepin County is accepting applications for a .8 full-time Accounting Specialist. This position will work 30 hours per week and will perform accounting functions for the Finance, Personnel, and Health Departments.

Position Purpose: This is a Finance, Personnel and Administrative position which serves as office manager for the Finance and Personnel departments. The position works to perform and coordinate the financial accounting, budgeting, data processing, and general accounting functions including the accounting functions for the Health Department. Duties principally include assisting with payroll and performing detailed accounting work in assigned areas, maintaining records, and filing related agency reports as well as supervising the Finance & Personnel Accounting Clerk. The work is performed under the direction of the Finance Director and in conjunction with the Personnel Director and Health Department Director.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting or related field; Bachelor’s Degree in accounting preferred or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Must have working knowledge & experience with accounting practices, office terminology, procedures, routines, equipment, Business Math, and English.
• Ability to work as a team player, collaborator, and positive communication skills with consumers and peers in the workplace.
• Proficiency in personal computer use with Microsoft Office and Accounting Software
• Good written and oral communications skills, thoroughness, and dependability

Compensation and Benefits: $ 22.23/hr. -$25.40/hr. commensurate upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
