Accountant
Chippewa County is accepting applications for an Accountant I within the Department of Human Services. The job duties of the Accountant I include, but are not limited to providing financial analysis, reporting, auditing, contracting and budgeting functions for DHS. under the general direction of the Director of Human Services, and under direct supervision of the DHS Fiscal Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance with two (2) yeas of accounting related work experience required -OR- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance with six (6) years accounting related work experience required. Recent work experience in human services, government or non-profit setting preferred. Work experience which includes working with contracts, requests for information, bids, proposals preferred. Experience with billing and provider certification for Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel programs. Starting Wage: $27.31 – $29.69 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $35.63 per hour
