Account Technician (Brewster Village) Full Time

Under the general supervision of the Financial Services Manager, the Account Technician applies bookkeeping practices to perform basic accounting functions and performs general clerical duties and maintenance of financial records for Brewster Village.
This is a customer service position seated at a bank window. The ideal candidate should be able to work and stay on task with frequent interruption.
This position will work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Reviews and processes incoming invoices and codes and classifies accounts payable vouchers including creating purchase orders. Enters vouchers in JD Edwards.
The ideal candidate shall follow organizational policies and procedures including those dictated by the organization, CMS, and DHS.
This position will cross train into other office positions to serve as backup during breaks and times of vacancy.
Track expenses for annual Medicaid cost reporting.
Keeps complete and systematic business transaction records by recording financial transactions, prepares and makes deposits, reconciles bank statements and maintains cash on hand for many accounts utilizing Excel and ECS.
Monitors credit card activity by assuring transactions have supporting documentation. GL code transactions to appropriate expense account.
Assure villager trust account balances are refunded within 30 days of closure.
Assists with online shopping for villager and facility purchases. Assures compliance with tax exempt status.
Utilize JD Edwards for various accounting functions as assigned such as generating monthly budget reports and depreciation tables.
Track Wisconsin Caregiver Careers Program Grant funds
Process Travel and Mileage Forms
Using petty cash and villager accounts will prepare transportation fare for daily appointments. Will document Brewster Village van usage into ECS.
Prepares and maintains appropriate resident trust fund transactions and reports and prepares account statements and month end reports.
Updates and maintains fixed asset information utilizing Excel and JD Edwards.
Prepares and maintains beauty shop schedule for Villagers
Assists with and participates in social activities of resident’s choice which provide meaningful ways to spend time such as recreation, exercise, relationship building and fun.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
Graduate from High School or G.E.D.
Associate’s Degree in Accounting Preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Office experience with data entry, organizational skills, and communication skills required
Required or Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to confirm to goals, policies, and procedures of the Department, Brewster Village and the Outagamie County Work Rules and Terms of Employment.
Demonstrated sensitivity to the particular challenges villagers face in terms of communicating their needs and preferences.
Demonstrated reliability in attendance and flexibility to work hours.
Knowledge of general office equipment and computer software utilized by the department.
Demonstrated ability to comply with appropriate safety regulations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated willingness to work out any conflicts with others.
Ability to work semi-independently making sound decisions using good judgment.
Ability to multi-task and perform work with frequent interruptions is imperative in this role.
Ability to budget time and schedule work to efficiently complete tasks.
Ability to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to effectively use tact and diplomacy with co-workers, general public, etc.
Ability to organize and schedule work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers.
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 10 pounds, understanding and utilizing proper body mechanics.
Ability to communicate with people clearly and respectfully, without patronizing or manipulating.
