Job Description:

Chippewa County is accepting applications for a Land Resource Technician within the Department of Land Conservation & Forest Management. This can be a student or a recent graduate. This position is seasonal, non-recurring, and limited term and requires up to 40 hours per week during May – November 2026 for a commitment of 975 hours. Focus includes technical support for nonmetallic mine site reclamation and the stormwater management program.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Resource Management, Ecology, Biology, Geography, or other related course of study. Knowledge of mapping software, ArcGIS or similar software required. GPS survey experience preferred. Knowledge of soil science, geology, and plant science; construction excavation techniques and materials, and/or stormwater management preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
