2025 SEASONAL HIGHWAY
Chippewa County is currently accepting applications for Traffic Control Technician positions within the Highway Department. The job duties include but are not limited to: provide traffic control of highway/bridge maintenance & construction projects and provide responsive, courteous and efficient services to County residents and the general public. A Traffic Control Technician may be assigned, initially, to only one area, however, as length of service increases, a Traffic Control Technician will be expected to perform work in other areas as needed.
2025 Season begins: Monday, April 28th 2025 until late October 2025. Seasonal employment that averages 40 hours per week. Great opportunity to join the Chippewa County Highway Department with the opportunity to obtain your CDL!
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years old. Minimum of one (1) year of part of full-time work experience required. Experience in highway construction is preferred. Wisconsin Flagging Certification training is required and will be provided upon hire. Valid driver’s license required. A cell phone is required. OPERATOR II – Truck Driver
Chippewa County is currently accepting applications for Seasonal Operator II positions within the Highway Department. The job duties of the seasonal Operator II include but are not limited to: provide highway/bridge maintenance & construction, construction & maintenance materials handling, sand & gravel mining activities, highway facilities maintenance, and provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. A seasonal Operator II may be assigned, initially, to only one area; however, as length of service increases, an Operator II will be expected to perform work in other areas as needed.
2025 Season begins: Monday, April 28th 2025 until late October 2025. Seasonal employment that averages 40 hours per week.

Class A CDL and N-Tanker Endorsement required within 6 months from date of full-time hire. MSHA certification for work in mines preferred. Certifications – as determined by the County based on the position. Road maintenance experience preferred. A cell phone is required.
