Broadband in Wisconsin Featured in January “Wisconsin Counties” Magazine

Valuable Layperson Primer on the Issues of Implementing Broadband in State

The January 2013 edition of Wisconsin Counties magazine highlights broadband in Wisconsin.

 

Written by a variety of stakeholders, this collection of articles on broadband is a valuable layperson primer on the issues of implementing broadband in Wisconsin, including identifying key players, public and private investment and partnerships, basic terminology and economic development implications.

 

“The topic of broadband in Wisconsin has far reaching impacts and is a complex issue that touches upon a large base of stakeholders and has tremendous economic development challenges and opportunities,” said WCA Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell. “This issue of Wisconsin Counties is one of the most comprehensive documents to date that brings together a variety of contributors and we are excited to work closely with UW-Extension to bring broadband to the forefront of discussions.”

 

Also described in the magazine are concrete ways for community leaders to get involved right now and include the following announcements:

 

1.     The PSC demand survey (Interested parties and regional planning teams can attend a training webinar on the implementation of these demand surveys on January 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Central Time.
