This position solves problems and advocates for aging and disabled populations who are having difficulty with private or public benefits; educates groups and individuals to promote choices and prevent problems; assists and represents in Medicare Insurance, Medical Assistance or Social Security issues at the appeal level. This position serves as a resource to other county and community agencies and groups in planning programs for older people. This position is provided programmatic supervision by an attorney out of the Elder Law Center or disability benefit specialist program attorney.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services related program with two (2) years of recent human services or financial work experience related to benefit programs OR Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or Human Services related program with four (4) years recent human services or financial work experience related to benefit programs. Work experience must include direct customer contact. Possession of valid Wisconsin driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work experience with benefit programs and determining benefit eligibility preferred.

This position is a FT 40 hours per week position starting at $25.93 – $27.40 per hour (depending on qualifications)
