Communications Officer

Employees in this position engage in dispatching of emergency vehicles in response to calls requiring police, fire, or medical services and also answer telephone calls and inquiries of emergent and non-emergent nature. This position requires training and familiarization with emergency service dispatching entailing a 9-1-1 system.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in administrative assistant or related field or job-related course work and/or knowledge of public safety and security preferred.

2024 Wage Range: $22.59 – $25.17 per hour and includes benefits and participation in the state retirement system.
