Intervention Services Supervisor
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Division Manager, the Intervention Services Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision and coordination over the operations, services, and personnel involved in emergency mental health and adult protective services. Duties include supervising and participating in the processing of emergency/inpatient court services and guardianship reviews; coordinating case management activities between court personnel, corporation counsel, law enforcement, inpatient or medical facilities and other professionals; and assisting the Behavioral Health Division Manager implement new procedures or protocols for crisis stabilization and linkage to community-based services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Coordinates, monitors, and authorizes inpatient, stabilization, crisis respite, and Chapter 51, 55, and 880 court orders. Provides and assigns case management for these services and makes decisions concerning outcomes and client treatment/service plans based upon clinical assessment, discussions with other professionals and resources available.
-Processes all mental health and AODA court services including emergency detentions, commitments, protective services, placements and guardianships.
-Assigns duties to staff, approves interventions and services provided, advises staff regarding appropriate protocols, procedures and follow up needed with clients. Monitors staff activities, documentation, and procedures to assure compliance with agency policies and procedures.
-Provides direct supervision and consultation, including group, individual, and as needed per staff request.
-Provides emergency crisis services for clients including crisis line backup coverage and face-to-face assessments, as needed.
-Develops, updates and reviews crisis plans developed for acute and/or high needs clients. Supports crisis team and community mental health providers with training and consultation to support ancillary services and reduce ongoing crises and hospitalization.
-Assists with the assessment of clinical needs for consumers enrolled/referred to emergency mental health services requiring more intensive and ongoing clinical care.
-Implementation and application of quality assurance procedures to support program compliance.
-Monitor fiscal budget of emergency services within the behavioral health division, including oversight of contracts and expanding provider network.
-Participate in the application, implementation, and monitoring of grants related to emergency mental health services, such as the Substance Abuse Block Grant, Mental Health Block Grant, and the Community Mental Health Services Block Grant.
-Participate in local and regional emergency services planning meetings, adult protective service meetings, and prevention related committees.
-Assists with facilitation and implementation of the Interdisciplinary Team by engaging and networking with community members to expand resources for aging populations.
-Serves as program liaison with law enforcement, local medical center, and other agencies involved in determining emergency detentions or emergency services.
-Development of Diversion Options as an alternative to Inpatient placement for emergency services.
-Performs other duties of a comparable level and type, as required.
Work Requirements:
-Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Guidance & Counseling, or related area.
-Three years of directly related work experience in the delivery and coordination of emergency/inpatient and course services. Three years of management experience desired.
-Valid WI driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
-Licensed in the State of WI as a professional counselor, clinical social worker or marriage & family therapist.
