Accounting Supervisor- Finance

Under general supervision of the Department Director, administers and maintains the accounting and financial reporting system of Departments receiving Federal and State grant funding in compliance with established local, state, and federal accounting policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and Single Audit guidelines, with concentration in the Health & Human Services Department. Provides direct supervision of Fiscal staff in the Health & Human Services Department to ensure adherence to proper accounting policies and procedures. Makes recommendations for the improvement of financial reporting capabilities and developing methods of obtaining financial data to increase accounting functions and activities associated with the profession. This position differs from an Accountant in that the Supervisor provides lead direction also to professional accounting staff concerning grant and Single Audit procedures and is assigned tasks generally requiring a greater breadth of experience and accounting expertise.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 3 years experience in government or public accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job duties, such as those listed above.
