Current Social Worker openings are:

Children, Youth & Families (CYFS) – Child Protective Services Initial Assessment Social Worker: ensuring children are safe in their homes, conducting thorough assessments through interviews/home visits/collateral investigations, assessing for the safety of children with their parents or caregivers, responsible for removing children from home and finding safe alternative placement, and providing timely, courteous responses to Chippewa County residents and the general public.

Children, Youth & Families (CYFS) – Child Protective Services Ongoing Social Worker: ensuring children are safe in their homes, developing relationships with parents/caregivers, providing case management, services, and support to parents/caregivers, developing and updating treatment plans around the needs of the family and to achieve permanency for children in out-of-home care, and providing timely, courteous responses to Chippewa County residents and the general public.

Children with Differing Abilities (CWDA) – Comprehensive Community Services Social Worker: needs assessment, crisis intervention, case planning, advocacy and development of community resources; to provide services to both children and adults with varying disabilities, functioning levels, substance use and mental health needs; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to Chippewa County residents and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and must possess or be able to obtain Social Work Certification within two (2) years of hire. Prior experience working with children and families who have experienced trauma, AODA issues, and mental health issues or with families and children with differing abilities is preferred. Starting Wage: $23.61 – $29.74 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $37.18 per hour
