Are you a motivated self-starter who enjoys repairing and maintaining buildings and grounds equipment? If so, Monroe County’s Maintenance Department might have the job for you. We’re hiring for a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician – Lead. Successful candidates will have an associate’s degree in facilities maintenance, mechanical operations, construction trades, or closely related field with five years of work experience with building systems, operations, and repair. Lead or supervisory experience is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may also be considered.

Our Facilities Maintenance Technician – Lead performs skilled technical work in the maintenance and repair of County buildings. This position is responsible for training new employees and coordinating cross-training opportunities, as well as coaching and mentoring staff to meet goals and maintain motivation. Our Lead schedules daily work assignments and prioritizes assignments as needed to ensure timely completion of work, performs inspections on equipment to ensure proper working condition, and performs maintenance and operational duties with co-workers while operating heavy and light equipment and power and hand tools.

Starting salary for this position is $22.33 hourly. Monroe County offers a robust benefits package to include health with vision, dental, term life, WRS and more.
