Do you want to work on civil engineering projects and have three day weekends this summer?

Marathon County Highway Department is looking for a Civil Engineering Student Intern. The Highway Department crews maintain over 600 miles of county highways and 110 bridges. The department has a full time paving crew, a construction crew that performs grading and major culvert replacements and a bridge crew that typically builds one bridge each summer.

The intern would be involved with various tasks ranging from data entry, record keeping, surveying, field measurements, construction labor, flagging, general office work and other tasks as assigned. Candidates should be able to work well independently, as well as have the ability to function as part of construction crews.

The position will typically work Monday through Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are opportunities to work overtime.

This would be a great opportunity for a student to have hands on field experience on a variety of rural public works projects. Some candidates may also be offered employment opportunities during winter holiday and spring breaks.

Compensation:

Starting at $17.50/hour
