This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Clerk of Circuit Court and Register of Probate to discharge the duties as defined in Wisconsin Statutes and assist in the day-to-day management of the Court’s administrative functions on a fill-in basis. This position must have knowledge of legal terminology, court proceedings, office practices and procedures and requires confidentiality of records in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin and office policy. In the absence of the Clerk of Circuit Court or Register of Probate, assume the duties and responsibilities of the office.

Qualifications include High School diploma, Associate Degree in a business, accounting, paralegal, or related field is preferred. Two years’ experience in a court-related or legal office setting is also preferred. This position requires professionalism; effective communication skills; tactful; detail oriented; ability to multitask and work under duress; knowledge of legal terminology; cash management and accounting skills; proficient computer/typing skills including email; ability to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations. This position requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

The 2022 Wage scale for this position is $19.43 – $22.21. This is a part-time fill- in position working on an as needed basis.
