Job Summary
Schedule requirements: At least one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per month with flexibility during the week to assist with emergencies and vacations.

Assures quality and continuity of health care services to clients; functions in collaborative relationships with facility physicians to ensure quality of care; serves as a role model, resource person and educator for facility staff; assists the Clinical Director in the establishment of standards of care to promote excellence in client services.

The wage listed is $60.00 per physical completed.

Essential Duties
Directs, supervises, and consults with professional staff in the implementation of treatment plans and care of clients under his/her care.

Provides psychiatric consultation, evaluation and treatment as required.

Assists in the development and implementation of follow-up treatment plans for clients as needed.

Discharges clients and/or assists in the closing of cases on clients under his/her care in a timely manner.

Provides expert testimony in court cases, if required.

Assists the Clinical Director in the development, evaluation and implementation of clinical programs.

Participates in the organization, meetings, and duties as required.

Assumes overall responsibility for the care rendered to clients under his/her care.

Maintains responsibility for safe client care through the use of appropriate planning, implementation and evaluation procedures.

Maintains documentation as required and completes in a timely manner according to additional medical expertise or intervention, Department policy and regulatory requirement.

Assumes responsibility for the psychiatric care and treatment of clients in the Outpatient Clinic setting.

Assures quality and continuity of health care services to clients; functions in collaborative relationships with facility physicians to ensure quality of care; serves as a role model, resource person and educator for facility staff; assists the Clinical Director in the establishment of standards of care to promote excellence in client services.
Works collaboratively with the Medical Director and all facility physicians in the development of objectives, policies and procedures, and the evaluation data for medical services.
Maintains the confidential nature of client and business information.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Nursing, with Nurse Practitioner preparation; certification as Nurse Practitioner by professional organization, and additional training and certification to provide psychiatric APNP services, having passed necessary state boards and have current credentialing to provide psychiatric services.
Licensed with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

Licenses and Certifications:
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse licensure and additional credentials and training, having passed necessary state boards to provide psychiatric services in a Wisconsin Outpatient Clinic.
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of multi-disciplinary mental health treatment methods. Knowledge of advanced nursing practice as a basis for assessments, deriving scientifically grounded conclusions and prescribed therapeutic approaches.

Knowledge of psychiatric treatment in assigned areas.

Knowledge of electronic medical records or ability to learn those skills.

Knowledge of principles of documentation.

Ability to evaluate, develop and implement plans in the care of clients.

Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, courts and a variety of referral sources.

Ability to supervise and direct multi-disciplinary professional staff in the implementation of client care and treatment.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff and the public.

Knowledge of the needs of developmentally disabled, mentally ill, and AODA clients.

Skill in performing necessary client evaluation related to clients with acute and chronic mental health problems.

Ability to work collaboratively with the Medical Director, facility physicians and staff in providing psychiatric services to clients to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Ability to deal with stress associated with threatening or unpredictable client behavior.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to work the required hours of the position.
