Job Description:

Burnett County is seeking a full-time supervisor position that provides management to the Children and Families Unit within Health and Human Services. The unit is comprised of eight positions, including both social work and case management staff, with the supervisor providing direct supervision to Initial Assessment, Ongoing CPS, Access/Intake, Foster Care Coordination, Youth Justice and Coordinated Service Teams (CST) programs.

Essential Functions of the Position:

*Provides supportive and direct supervision of Children and Families Unit staff, including all needed supervisory approvals for related case work and as required by state statute.

*Provides scheduled, 1:1 supervision with staff which allows for direct supervision, support, case staffing and professional/growth development.

*Ensures all relevant statutes, standards and contractual requirements are followed, including monitoring that all benchmarks are upheld and met.

*Provides screening of all Child Protection Reports within the mandatory timeframes, reviews and assigns cases and approves all work within eWISACWIS within necessary timeframes.

*Prepares necessary and required reports, including monthly board reports, quarterly program and annual program reports as required by local and state timeframes.

*Participates and attends local, regional and statewide meetings and training opportunities to remain informed and in compliance of practice standards as well as understand upcoming changes and/or relevant program information. Information is then transferred back to key stakeholders, including unit staff, agency director and governing committee.

*Completes administrative duties including but not limited to approving time sheets, invoices, training requests, unit staff PTO requests and completing required staff evaluations as per county policy. Approves services for clients.

*Participates in the recruitment process of new staff including attending all scheduled interviews and providing recommendation for hiring.

*Works with key community stakeholders including schools, law enforcement, service providers, including providing presentations on an as needed or as requested basis.

*Monitors the approved budget, provides direct feedback the agency director, including alerting to high cost placements.

*Is available to staff covering after hours juvenile intake for any needed approval.

*Handles complaints made by clients and other community stakeholders.

Qualifications
•Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Criminal Justice or closely related field • Current Social Worker Certification required, supplemented by at least three years of experience as a County Social Worker • Ability to pass required background checks • A valid Wisconsin Driver’s license required.

Special Requirements:
Supervisory/Management Experience Preferred.
