Job Summary
Exciting opportunity to lead ADRC’s mission-driven Grounded Café!

This full-time position is responsible for managing Grounded Café located within the ADRC of Brown County. The Café Leader is responsible for daily operations of the café, an integrated senior dining site, mobile café vehicle and oversight for the team of staff and volunteers. This leadership position participates in the development and ongoing growth & success of Grounded Café.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the operations of the Grounded Café that includes an integrated congregate dining site and coffee house. Participates in the development, implementation, marketing and ongoing growth and success of the café/coffee-house model within the ADRC.

Essential Duties
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizes, supervises, coordinates and monitors the operations of the Grounded Café at the ADRC location.

As the front face of the coffee house and congregate dining program, ensures Grounded Cafe is welcoming and supportive of customers. Greets customers, explains the products and programs offered at the café.

Actively creates a bridge between café and congregate meal customers to assure everyone is comfortable and feels welcome.

Is an ambassador of ADRC programs and café products, assists with outreach and promotion.

Ensures food handling and service meets Serving Safe Food guidelines and Health Department License requirements.

Maintains safety, sanitation, care and order of work areas and equipment, including storage areas, coolers and freezers. Reports repair and maintenance needs to ADRC Facilities Coordinator.

In partnership with the Volunteer and Nutrition Coordinator, recruits, orients and supports volunteers to assist at the cafe.

Supports and mentors senior aides, WISE workers, volunteers, etc. at the cafe.

Records and submits monthly volunteer hours to Accounting Clerk.

Maintains accurate participation records and other program documentation.

In accordance with Aging Network and Older American’s Act guidance, ensures that customers have the opportunity to contribute for the publicly funded meal and that contributions are handled according to agency policies.

Assures the provision of nutrition education, and collaborates with socialization activities at the cafe.

Follows the ADRC money handling policy and ensures practices are followed by all volunteers and staff in the café.

In collaboration with the AddLife Coordinator, plans and organizes opportunities for socialization and other activities at the café.
Maintains accurate inventory of products and needed supplies at the café.

Purchases inventory, receives deliveries by checking food and material goods against specifications, purchase order and invoices.

Participates in the planning and goal-setting efforts of ADRC.

Participates as a team player to further agency goals.

Has a “Duty to Report” during a community emergency/disaster according to the ADRC Emergency Preparedness Plan.

Minimum Qualifications Required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a restaurant environment including knowledge of safe and effective food handling processes, inventory, cash handling and customer service practices.

12 months experience working with older adults, adults with disabilities and volunteers, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
Valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
CPR/AED Certification
ServSafe Food Handling Certification

Knowledge of hygiene and sanitary regulations governing the handling, preparation and serving of food.
Knowledge of safety hazards while working with kitchen equipment and chemicals in the work environment.

Knowledge of MSOffice Computer Program office suite.
Ability to operate a cash register, point of sale equipment and other concession devices.
Ability to understand and practice the confidential nature of the position.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, customers, volunteers and the general public.
