Due to growth, the Portage County IT Department is hiring a full time Network Analyst to join the team!

What are the primary job duties?

Performs installation, maintenance and repair of local and wide area networks to include installation, configuration, and testing of routers, switches, VOIP phones, wireless access points and other related equipment.
Works with IT Network Supervisor to implement complex network configuration changes, upgrades, and expansions accurately without adversely affecting network availability.
Maintains network procedures and schematic documentation.
Monitors networks to ensure reliability and efficient communications. Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots network operations.
Assists IT Network Supervisor in the administration of County systems (including backup, security management, active directory user account management, e-mail systems, internet access, office systems and applications).
Maintains, and documents server, desktop, application and virtualization systems to include VMware, Windows Server, Exchange Server, MS-SQL Server, and SharePoint.
Maintains hardware and software documentation on appropriate projects, situations and or problems.
Serves as a tier two technical resource person to end users. Provides training in operation of hardware, software and use of networks.
Works with and acts as liaison between County departments and/or systems vendors.
Independently recognizes and performs non-routine maintenance functions when needed to maximize user productivity and lessen system downtime.
Enhances professional growth by attending technical conferences and seminars, participating in educational programs and keeping abreast of current technology developments.
Assists in the care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment, and supplies.

What are the minimum qualifications?

Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field.
2 years network administration and support experience.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for work related travel.
Cisco switching and router support experience preferred.
Nutanix AHV and VMWare support experience required.
Nutanix Frame support experience preferred
Sophos Firewall support experience preferred.
Ability to support and experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 Windows 7/8/10 required.
Ability to support and experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS/DHCP Server, SQL Server, Exchange 2013/2016, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office 2013/2016 required.
Microsoft Office 365 experience preferred
SAN/NAS familiarity required.
Ubuntu Linux support experience preferred.
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must pass FBI criminal background check which will be conducted by the Portage County Sheriff’s department. Must not have any felony convictions.
