What are the primary job responsibilities?

Provides Leadership in Planning, Developing, Coordinating, and Evaluating the Service Delivery System for the Division, which includes;

Monitors programs and services for efficiency and comprehensiveness.
Analyzes current and projects future needs.
Designs and recommends program and staffing modifications to meet current anticipated needs.
Facilitates/coordinates with other community professionals and/or organizations to be aware of, and resolve any gaps in, services.
Assumes primary responsibility to develop division goals and objectives.
Assumes primary responsibility to design and implement methods of collection for appropriate statistical information.
Assumes primary responsibility to evaluate division programs for effectiveness.
Advises Health and Human Services Board on policy matters pertaining to division issues.

Provides Supervision and Direction to Division Supervisors and programs in the Division of Children and Family Services, which includes;

Recommends hiring and termination, supervises, and evaluates all Division supervisors and staff.
Provides oversight to the supervisors of the Economic Support, Child Support, Child Welfare, and Youth and Family Sections Section, which includes services for all economic support and employment based activities, child welfare, juvenile delinquency services, and to child support.
Organizes regular conferences and staff meetings.
Promotes staff development through individual guidance, in-service programs, and other training events.
Administers personnel policies.
Coordinates all division reorganization to maximize program effectiveness as well as staff efficiencies.
Ensures new staff are trained.
Interprets, creates and applies agency directives and policies in accordance with laws, regulations, and practices pertaining to Federal, State, and local programs.

What are the minimum qualifications?

Bachelor’s degree in human service field required; Master’s degree in a human service related field preferred.
Five years of experience in program planning, administration, budgeting, and staff management required.
Five years of experience or training in child and family services with emphasis on child abuse and neglect required.
Licensed/certified in social work or a related human service field or be licensed/certified eligible preferred.
One year computer experience required.
