County Sanitarian/Assistant Zoning Administrator
The Iowa County Planning and Development Department is seeking applicants for a full time Sanitarian/Assistant Zoning Administrator. This position is responsible for the enforcement of state and county sanitation codes as well as assisting with general zoning administration. Primary duties include administration and interpretation of county sanitary ordinances, make on-site visits, issue permits, review plans and applications and perform duties assigned in WI Administrative Code and WI Statues for wastewater treatment systems. Starting salary range is $23.56/hr. – $26.18/hr. with a generous comprehensive benefits package.
Applicant requirements: High School Diploma/GED and Valid driver’s licensed required. Associates degree, two-year certification or Bachelor’s degree in Plumbing, Soil Science, Administration, Land Use Planning, or Resource Management preferred. Experience in plumbing and/or interpreting ordinances preferred. Candidates must obtain Private On-site Wastewater Treatment System Inspector (P.O.W.T.S) and Certified Soil Tester license (C.S.T) certification within 6 months of employment.
