Public Health Officer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs complex skilled technical work administering and ensuring the enforcement of federal and state public health laws and rules, providing oversight of the Public Health programs, reporting public health information of the community to the general public, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Health and Human Services Director. Divisional supervision is exercised over all personnel within the division.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in nursing, public health administration, or related field and considerable experience in public health, human services, administrative operations, health education, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Obtain Incident Command System 100, 200, 300, and 400 training, National Incident Management System 700 training, and Emergency Preparedness training within one year of hire. Valid driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin.

STARTING WAGE: $30.61 per hour. Adams County offers a generous benefits package.
