WCA Congratulates Longtime Friend Ray Cross on Selection as UW System President

The Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) has had a long-standing relationship with UW Extension and their offices around the state, working together to create innovative programming and services.

“Since 2011, we have worked closely with UW Extension Chancellor Ray Cross to elevate the work and foster even stronger partnerships between counties and UW-Extension,” said WCA President and Sauk County Board Chair Marty Krueger. “With last week’s announcement of Chancellor Cross being selected as UW System President, we at the Wisconsin Counties Association couldn’t be happier for him and look forward to working with him in his new position.”

WCA Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell has also worked with Chancellor Cross in O’Connell’s role as UW Colleges/UW-Extension Board of Visitors President.

“Chancellor Cross has been a tremendous asset and collaborator with counties and we are thrilled that he has been selected to lead the UW System in this critical time,” said WCA Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell.  “His leadership style and vision for the future will help to guide the prestigious UW System in the years ahead as we position our schools to create the new workforce of tomorrow.”
