Job Description:

The full-time Substance Abuse Counselor will provide intervention and prevention services, therapy/treatment for individuals, couples, families and groups regarding alcohol/drug abuse and dependency in addition to crisis intervention, consultation, diagnostic evaluation, coordination, monitoring, follow-up, intake and referral services. Evening hours may be required.

Applicants for this position must possess an Associate Degree in Alcohol & other Drug Abuse or related field with 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice or related field along with training and education in AODA field, Substance Abuse Counselors certification in good standing with Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services and 3,000 hours of supervised counseling experience. Experience working with correctional/AODA individuals, adolescent and adult AODA population and hold an Intoxicated Driver Program Assessor Certification is preferred. Valid driver’s license and access to transportation is required.
