Social Worker – Child Protective Services – Under the direction of the Children, Youth, and Families (CYF) Program Manager this position determines the need for and provides individuals and families with a wide range of social services designed to overcome personal, family, financial, or health issues. This position maintains a caseload, provides exploratory and diagnostic intake, and performs social services tasks appropriate to the client’s issues/concerns/needs. This position coordinates and collaborates with the CYF Unit Program Manager and CYF Unit staff. This position provides child protection investigation and family assessments or ongoing child protection case management to families that have encountered abuse and neglect; primary duties are dependent on agency needs. This position assesses safety, provides resources, makes referrals for services, monitors case plan progress, and makes permanency plans for children in need of protection and services.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or closely related field from an accredited university or college. Certified Social Worker preferred. Must obtain Wisconsin Social Work Certification within two years of hire. MN Social Work licensure will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) to two (2) years of experience in child protective services or Juvenile Court services to children and families. Knowledge of Wisconsin Statutes Chapters 48 and 938. Courtroom experience is preferred.

This position is a FT 40 hours per week position. Starting Salary range $25.05 – $28.62 per hour depending on qualifications plus fringe benefits.
