Position Purpose:
Position works with children with special needs, to include mental health and substance abuse. This is the entry level community behavioral health services position built on recovery concepts. Under supervision, the employee assists consumers with environmental and supportive services designed to address and overcome physical, mental, emotional health or family issues; conducts individual or family assessment to determine service needs; provides agency services when appropriate; and refers consumers for other community-based services when needed. Services to consumers may take the form of protective actions on their behalf or on behalf of the community.
Education and Experience Requirements:
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or relevant field
b. Three years’ experience with families with mental health, substance abuse, and/or developmental, physical, cognitive disabilities
c. Good written and oral communication skills; tact and courtesy; thoroughness and dependability
d. Knowledge of the functions, procedures, organization, policies, and regulations governing the administration of the Children’s Long-term Support Waiver and Comprehensive Community Services Program
e. Advanced facilitation skills
f. Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with all pertinent information
g. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and supervisors
h. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and/or available means of transportation required.
i. Available to be on call as assigned
j. Meets requirement of background check including caregiver

The 2025 Wage scale for this position is: $26.46 – $30.24 per hour or $28.86 – $32.98 per hour with Social Worker Certification Scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, with full benefit package including Wisconsin Retirement
