Position Summary:
This position conducts adult protective services intakes and investigations; intake and assessments for Adult Protective Services and the Elder Abuse Program; intake and assessments for individuals requesting other services; and Guardianships and Protective Placements and annual WATTS reviews. Employee exercises independent judgment and discretion within established guidelines.
Education and Training Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum Bachelor degree in a human service discipline, such as Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology. Minimum of one year of county social work experience preferred. MUST HAVE current Wisconsin Social Work License meeting the requirements specified under Wis. Statute 457, or the ability to obtain license within a year of employment. Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with adequate auto insurance to meet minimum County requirements, or access to reliable transportation for city and rural travel.
Compensation/Benefits:
The 2021 annual salary range for this full-time (75 hours bi-weekly), non-exempt position is $41,652 to $45,493.50. Vernon County’s compensation plan considers annual wage step increases, in additional a new step scale has been put in place for 2022.
