POSITION SUMMARY:
Marathon County’s Social Service Department is recruiting for a full-time Social Work Supervisor to oversee the Children’s Long Term Support and Comprehensive Community Services programs. Position supervises professional staff, with the support of a lead worker, who provide a variety of case management services to children with severe mental health issues and/or disabilities and their families. Focus of programming is to support children in living in a thriving and safe environment in the homes of their families, at times in collaboration with child protective services staff.

Responsibilities may include: monitoring department activities to ensure compliance to policy and procedures; approving expenditures; coordination of contracted services; responding to client issues; preparation of reports; developing programming; making hiring and termination recommendations; assigning tasks and responsibilities; and completing performance evaluations. Work is performed with considerable latitude for independent action and in an environment that champions a positive culture. Position is an integral part of the agency’s management team and reports to the Child Welfare Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an approved college or university in Social Work or closely related field, and 2 years human services supervisory experience preferred; OR equivalent combination of closely related education and experience required. Certification as a Social Worker required; Master’s degree in related area preferred.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a driver’s license and a driving record that meets County standards; OR ability to obtain reliable transportation.
