Public Health Program Support Specialist

Pepin County Public Health Department is accepting applications for an .8 FTE Program Support Specialist.

Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for providing program, administrative and operational support to the Health Department and assists with the implementation of initiatives and activities that promote health, prevent disease, and address the established community health improvement priorities. The work is performed under the supervision of the Director/Health Officer and supports the Board of Health.

Primary duties of the position include program lead for the immunization and tobacco control programs, management of the department website and social media platforms, and operational support for other programming.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of One year post high school education involving community or public health, marketing, business, and/or computers. Associate degree preferred.
• Two to four years of experience in office and system support or public health
• Ability to operate various types of equipment-standard office equipment, computer and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software programs used in daily operation.
• Ability to embrace new technology and equipment creating efficiencies.

Compensation and Benefits: $ 18.68 – $21.35 per hour commensurate upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience with opportunities for further advancement on the 16-step wage scale. A pro-rated full benefit package is also available. This position will be scheduled to work 30 hours per week with the possibility of additional LTE hours based on funding and departmental needs.
