Are you a motivated self-starter who enjoys repairing and maintaining buildings and grounds equipment? If so, Monroe County’s Maintenance Department might have the job for you. We’re hiring for a full-time Preventive Maintenance Technician. Successful candidates will have the minimum of high school graduation or equivalent; a two year associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or other related field is highly desired. A minimum of three years hands-on directly related experience and a valid driver’s license is required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will also be considered.

Our Preventive Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs of all buildings and grounds equipment. This role services, cleans, and operates HVAC, boilers, generators, and other equipment as needed. Our Preventive Maintenance Technician maintains the up-keep of the physical buildings and observes potential safety hazards; as well as, maintains the inventory of supplies and parts required for daily operations. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, air conditioning, heating equipment, and water and plumbing systems.

Starting salary for this position is: $17.50 – $19.09 hourly depending on qualifications and experience. Monroe County offers a robust benefits package to include health with vision, dental, term life, and more.
