Park Manager
Are you an independent self-starter with effective written and verbal communication skills? If so, Monroe County’s Forestry & Parks Department might have the job for you. We’re hiring for a full-time Park Manager. Successful candidates are preferred to have an Associate’s degree in Forestry or Natural Resources. Candidates who have graduated from high school or have a general education degree with significant work experience in forestry and parks operations or in a mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical related field may also be considered. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required. Must be eligible to obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicator’s License.
Our Park Manager maintains county recreation facilities and grounds and assists with the management of the county forest under the supervision of the Forestry and Parks Administrator. This position collects park fees, makes deposits, assists campers, writes grant applications, maintains records, and purchases supplies. Additional responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising seasonal employees to include scheduling and assignment of work duties; repairing, painting, and maintaining park buildings, playground equipment, and other park structures and preparing and maintaining plans for park maintenance and development. Our Park Manager conducts forest inventory, establishes property boundaries using GPS equipment, establishes timber sales, and identifies and controls invasive species.
Starting salary for this position is $25.09 hourly. Monroe County offers a robust benefits package to include health, dental, term life, WRS, and more.
