Operator III – Maintenance Patrol, State

Chippewa County is accepting applications for an Operator III – State Maintenance Patrol position within the Highway Department. The job duties of the Operator III – State Maintenance Patrol include but are not limited to the ability to use a variety of heavy equipment for the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. Winter maintenance activities will be required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in heavy equipment operation on a routine basis. Must be able to operate a variety of equipment relating to construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. Certifications – as determined by the County based on the position. Road maintenance experience preferred. Class A CDL without restrictions E and L required. N-Tanker Endorsement required within 6 months from date of hire. MSHA certification for work in mines preferred. Employer provided certification required within 6 months from date of hire. A cell phone is required. Starting Wage: $21.02 – $23.13 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $28.91 per hour.
