Job Description:

Chippewa County is accepting applications for an Operator II – Truck Driver position within the Highway Department. The job duties of the Operator II include but are not limited to provide highway and bridge maintenance and construction, construction and maintenance materials handling, sand and gravel mining and highway facilities maintenance; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. Winter maintenance activities will be required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in heavy equipment operation on a routine basis such as a grader, loaders, plow truck, and tractors. Must be able to operate identified equipment. Certifications – as determined by the County based on the position. Road maintenance experience required. Class A CDL without restrictions E and L required. N-Tanker Endorsement required within 6 months from date of hire. MSHA certification for work in mines preferred. Employer provided certification required within 6 months from date of hire. Starting Wage: $19.07 – $20.98 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $26.23 per hour.
