Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Administrative Services Supervisor and the Land Services Director, the purpose of the Office Associate III position is to facilitate administration of land use policies and ordinances and provide information and assistance to the general public, elected officials and other county departments.

Salary is based on 37.5 hours per week/1950 hours per year.

Essential Duties:
Help property owners complete applications such as zone change, variance, subdivision ordinance appeal, conditional use, land use and fire number/address assignment. Help the customer understand and answer questions regarding zoning and lake classifications, setback requirements, fees, procedure, ordinance, permit history or direction to the appropriate agency for their questions. Provide customer service to the public regarding zoning regulations and the process of permitting applications received in the Land Services department. Receipting payments of applications and entering new applications into the permit tracking system. Field inquiries about property and sanitary systems for property by plumbers, potential buyers and realty firms. Look up parcels to check for how property is zoned, also check for wetlands and flood hazard areas. Issues permits for land use, conditional use, sanitary and fire number assignment. Provide clerical support such as answering telephones, copying, faxing, filing, scanning and data entry. Maintain address/fire number assignments in property tax roll program. Maintain citation files. Track non-metallic mining program. Monitor sanitary tracking software program. Complete end of month reports. Follows State and Federal laws/regulations and local ordinances. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical training or Associate’s Degree in Business or closely related degree preferred; minimum of 1-3 years office experience preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience working with legal descriptions, accounting, bookkeeping and confidential information preferred.
