Job Description:

Job Summary
This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and security of all network infrastructure. This position also performs a wide variety of technical duties which include, but are not limited to installation, modification, documentation, problem diagnosis, root cause analysis and repair of all network hardware and software.

Essential Duties
Configure, implement, fix, and maintain various network security, WAN, LAN, and WLAN devices using industry best practices.

Create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning

Work with various 3rd parties to facilitate, handle and execute any special event OT/IT requirements.

Maintain and implement monitoring and alerting to help manage and ensure Service level Agreements.

Perform upgrades and firmware patching

Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, work off-hours, work extended hours

Participates in self-study; on the job and formal training as needed.

May participate as a project team member

Ability to work independently with direct supervision and training to perform day-to-day

Communicates to the affected customer(s) work order and project status, and ensures work is followed through to completion.

Secondary responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting with issues with networking, providing level 1 or 2 support coverage, etc.

Implements and supports systems under the direction of more senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:

Associate degree in computers, computer science, electronics or another related field preferred. Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Previous experience preferred.

Licenses and Certification:

Valid Driver’s License required.

Fingerprint/background clearance required

Preferred Qualifications:

Networking or Security Certifications Preferred.
Fortigate Firewalls
FortiNAC
Knowledge of Meraki technologies
Aruba Switches
Experience with Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASRs, Cisco ISRs.
Detailed understanding of High Availability architectures and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements.
Strong knowledge of Networking protocols including Ethernet, TCP/IP, STP, VTP, VLANs, Multicasting, etc.
3+ years experience with WAN/ LAN architectures including BGP, OSPF, , VRF, EIGRP etc.
3+ years experience with Network Security devices
Familiarity with wireless controllers

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to work well with departmental personnel and users.

Basic knowledge of Windows operating system

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.

Ability to work as a member of a project team.

Ability to identify and resolve support problems.

Ability to establish and maintain effectively working relationships with staff and users.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to work the required hours of the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Intermittent standing, walking and sitting; occasional driving.

Using hand(s)/feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and operating controls.

Occasional bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.

Distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes.

Distinguishing people or objects at varied distances under a variety of light conditions.
