LTE / FT Deputy Sheriff

Jackson County is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list to fill current and future LTE and full-time Deputy Sheriff positions. Duties may include traffic and crowd control, basic crime prevention and investigations, weapon and equipment operations and maintenance, report preparation, and enforcement of state and local laws and ordinances.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: This position is sworn with arrest powers and requires either an applicant to have an Associate’s Degree or a minimum of 60 college credits in Criminal Justice or related field; a valid 720-hour Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officer Certification or to be certifiable upon hire. Requires a valid Wisconsin driver’s license that will allow unrestricted performance of duties with no extensive drivers record, legal history or criminal background; no felony convictions.

2022 LTE Wage Range: $18.00 – $22.50 per hour. LTE position is non-benefited. Full-time position starts at $24.65 per hour and includes an excellent County benefit and State retirement package.
