Job Description:

Job Summary
Provide natural resource evaluations to protect and improve surface and ground water quality in an effort to improve the health and welfare of Brown County residents. Provides assistance to landowners and cooperating agencies, collects environmental data and reports as required.

Essential Duties
NR 151 Performance Standards and Prohibition evaluations

Ability to effectively communicate with landowners and the general public.

Evaluate beneficial insect populations

Arc Map and Arc GIS use to identify Resource Concerns

Work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work in all kinds of adverse weather conditions.

NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs related functions as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:
Coursework in Natural Resources, Soils, Resource Management, Fisheries or related field.

Presently attending post-secondary education in related field, in pursuit of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of natural resource concepts such as: water quality, erosion principles, conservation practices and their uses.

Knowledge of and ability to utilize a computer and the required software.

Ability to effectively plan and organize work load.

Ability to prepare reports and daily monitoring logs.

Ability to interpret and utilize aerial photos, road maps, etc.

Ability to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, land owners, and the public.

Ability of work the required hours.

Physical Demands:
Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Intermittent standing, walking and sitting.

Using hand(s)/feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.

Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, reaching or grappling.

Communicating orally in a clear manner.

Distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes.
