Jail Sergeant
Chippewa County is currently seeking a candidate for a Jail Sergeant position within the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department. The job duties of the Jail Sergeant include but are not limited to provide direction and basic supervision of the jail work force and inmate population. Supervises inmates and all jail staff in the custody, care, and transportation of inmates at the County Jail during assigned shift. Work involves supervision of the daily operation of an assigned area on an assigned shift and training of Jail Deputies.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college as defined by the U.S. Department of Education is required. Must be Jail Certified in the State of Wisconsin. Out of state certifications will be considered. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of Chippewa County Jailer experience or three (3) years of Jail or Corrections experience from an outside agency. Starting Wage: $25.50 – $27.54 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $34.43 per hour.
