Brewster Village is looking for dedicated and compassionate caregivers who want to work in a team-based environment, where Person Directed Living is our top priority.

Under general supervision of the Facilities and Operations Manager the Inventory/Supply Assistant will contribute to the organizational goals by preforming a variety of tasks to support the needs of Brewster Village and the Villagers that live here. Successful candidates should be self-motivated, demonstrate strong communication skills and have the ability to maintain a well organized work area.

The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Orders medical and maintenance supplies using telephone, fax, and computer equipment.
Maintains a clean and safe Central Supply location. Ensures that storage locations meet Life Safety Code 101 code compliancy.
Rotates stock to ensure that supplies remain up to date and meet all infection code requirements.
Assists with scheduling deliveries for Environmental Services.
Orders and delivers disposable products, medical supplies, and linen to the neighborhood locations and residents’ rooms.
Organizes and obtains equipment and products for new Villager move ins.
Researches cost comparisons of equipment and supplies to ensure we follow County purchasing requirement and obtains items at the lowest cost possible.
Develop purchase orders for products and equipment.
Communicates with delivery companies and contractors on the needs of the Environmental Services Department. Coordinates with these organizations to ensure we meet the needs of the Team and Villagers at Brewster Village.
Packs carts with washcloths, hand towels, and disposable products for delivery.
Assists in the receipt, storage and issuance of supplies.
Assists with and participates in social activities of Village’s choice which provide meaningful ways to spend time such as recreation, exercise, relationship building and fun.
Supports maintaining a clean safe household environment.
Respects the Villager’s rooms as their home.
Participates in team decisions and completes tasks as a team.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance, works overtime/extra hours as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Audits and tracks supplies and equipment.
Updates and audits facility owned assets.
Conducts inventory manually and replenishes supplies on neighborhoods and in offices.
Disinfects containers, equipment and supplies using antiseptic solutions.
Unloads laundry and supplies from loading dock.
Orders and receives supplies and stocks inventory shelves.
Shops local merchants, purchases personal hygiene supplies and distributes to Villagers.

Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
Graduate from high school or G.E.D.
Working knowledge of Lean Principals is preferred
Six months experience in inventory systems and central supply equipment.
Or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid driver’s license required.
This position does require successful completion of a Post Offer Pre Employment Examination (POPE).
