Highway Seasonal Operator II

Chippewa County is currently accepting applications for Seasonal Operator II positions within the Highway Department. The job duties of the seasonal Operator II include but are not limited to: provide highway/bridge maintenance & construction, construction & maintenance materials handling, sand & gravel mining activities, highway facilities maintenance, and provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. A seasonal Operator II may be assigned, initially, to only one area; however, as length of service increases, an Operator II will be expected to perform work in other areas as needed.

Seasonal employment that averages 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Class B CDL without restrictions E and L required. Class A and N-Tanker Endorsement required within 6 months from date of full-time hire. MSHA certification for work in mines preferred. Certifications – as determined by the County based on the position. Road maintenance experience preferred. A cell phone is required. Starting Wage: $20.50 per hour. *This is a non-benefited position.
